To transfer a Nominet UK domain (any domain that ends with .uk) to us, you will need to inform your existing domain name registration provider to change the IPS Tag on the domain to "HOSTIT".

Some providers have a control panel which you can request this change, whilst others, for security, will only accept a signed letter from the domain registrant, authorising the change to be made

If a signed request is required, we have produced a template which you can print onto your letter headed paper complete and send to your existing provider.

We do not charge to accept transfers of .uk domains into ourselves, although we cannot confirm whether you will be charged by the releasing registrar so you will need to confirm this with them.

BEFORE requesting the IPS Tag change with the existing domain registrar, please ensure you have added the domain into your client portal account with us ( https://portal.host-it.co.uk/ ).

If a domain is added to our IPS Tag that is not on the customer billing panel, then this will result in a delay in us processing the transfer and alerting a customer, as we find out who the domain is for. Whilst we do this, it means that the domain will be left unchanged and we will not be responsible for the domain nor future renewals until such time as that this has been established and the domain added to the respective customer account.
